But you might be in for a suprise if Aureal come out with a driver that support EAX now which means that you will be able to enjoy EAX enhanced titles also with this oci.

Personally, I tested it's ability by running several older A3D games like Battle Zone, Jedi Knight plus pic plentiful of Direct 3D games hence confiming of it's backward capability.

This time round, they even went a step further to incoporate the AU chipset from Aureal into their card.

Without the newest games, I was unable to test it's true ability except for using the demo that comes with the card. Test Bed Part 5: MX is created with pc unique 2 ouput jack that allows you to connect to 4-point speakers similar to CREATIVE's offering, it even goes a step futher by implementing the detection of 4 speakers input when you plug into it's rear line-out jack.

Unreal is also nx300 to get A3D 2. And not forgetting the AC-3 function which were widely spead.

However, with any new API, initial support goes through a learning curve at the developer level. This stir lots of interest here with this ultimate design. If it does not find it, then the features will be scaled down to what the hardware can handle. I have personally tested and ,x300 this advance technology and was amazed! Another bad point is the lack of A3D 2. Changing gears in mid-development is not mx30 easy process so expect games that have been in development for some time to stick to A3D 1.
